Do You Know The Structure of Square & Round Dancing in Sask.?
The most important people in this activity are YOU and I. We become members of a CLUB which looks after our needs. The province is divided into eight ZONES with all CLUBS being members of an ASSOCIATION in their ZONES.
The SASKATCHEWAN SQUARE & ROUND DANCE FEDERATION INC. is made up of representation from each Zone and helps to co-ordinate the activity throughout the province. It also represents all Saskatchewan Square and Round dancers at the national level by being a member of the CANADIAN SQUARE & ROUND DANCE SOCIETY.
Do You Know There Is No Competition?
It is interesting to note that there is no competitive activities in Square and Round dancing. Both types of dancing are divided into progressive programs of difficulty and advancement. You move up through these various programs at your own pace, depending on your ability, time and desire to learn.
Do You Know About Club Membership?
The membership of most clubs include people of all ages and from all walks of life. There is no age limitation in this activity which is rated as one of the top ten aerobic exercises available to all ages and health conditions
Do You Know What Square & Round Dancing Costs?
While a club membership will vary from club to club and area to area, most memberships may run from $50 to $100 per year per couple. No one makes a profit from these membership charges. The monies go to offset the cost of hall rentals, travel costs and caller fees
